Products Description
FBM232 Field Device System Integrator Module (FDSI)
The FBM232 P0926GW is an Ethernet communication module, also known as the Field Device System Integrator (FDSI). Its primary function is to establish a seamless, efficient data interface between the Foxboro DCS system and various field devices utilizing standard Ethernet protocols.

Key Features
The core functionality of the FBM232 lies in network integration and data exchange:
Ethernet Communication Interface:
Provides a single-port copper Ethernet interface supporting 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps transmission rates.
Enables communication with external devices by connecting to an Ethernet switch or hub.
Field Device Integration:
Capable of communicating and exchanging data with up to 64 external field devices.
As a universal Ethernet hardware module, it can recognize and support various industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP or other TCP/IP-based protocols) by loading different I/O software drivers.
Data Integration and Conversion:
Data Acquisition: The FBM232 reads data (such as analog, digital, integer values) from field devices and performs necessary unit and format conversions.
Data Storage: Stores converted data in its internal database for access by DCS controllers and operator stations.
Control Command Output: Receives control commands from the Foxboro DCS system and writes them to corresponding field devices.
DCS Connectivity: Supports up to 2000 DCI (Distributed Control Interface) control block connections, seamlessly integrating field device data into the control database and operator interface of Foxboro Evo™ or I/A Series systems.
