Products Description
The Lenel LNL-1320 (also known as the Series 2 or Series 3 Dual Reader Interface Module) is a core hardware component within the OnGuard® security management system. It serves as the bridge between the system controller (such as the LNL-2220 or LNL-3300) and the access control terminal devices (card readers, door contacts, door push buttons).
1. Product Overview
The LNL-1320 is a dual-card reader interface panel specifically designed to control two access points (or a single in/out dual-reader access point). It communicates with the main controller via an RS-485 bus and features a modular design, allowing security personnel to expand multiple access points within a single control enclosure.
2. Key Features
Multi-Protocol Support: Supports Wiegand, magnetic stripe, and the latest OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol), ensuring secure encrypted communication between readers and the panel.
Access Control Logic Management:
2 Reader Ports: Each port configurable independently.
8 Input Points: Supports external tamper detection, door magnetic status, door open buttons, and auxiliary inputs with line supervision (resistance monitoring).
6 Output Relays: 5A @ 30V DC contacts for controlling electromagnetic locks, electric strike locks, or triggering audible/visual alarms.
Local Decision-Making: If communication with the main controller is interrupted, the LNL-1320 can perform limited local processing based on cached permissions (depending on system configuration).
LED and Buzzer Control: Supports dual-color LED indicators and buzzer feedback logic on the reader.

3. Application Scenarios
Standard Office Access Control: Manages office entry/exit by connecting card readers, electronic locks, and door contacts.
High-Security Zones: Works with OSDP readers to prevent unauthorized entry via wire-cutting replay attacks.
Interlock Control: Utilizes extensive I/O points to trigger CCTV snapshots or activate lighting upon card swipe.
